The Violets of March, Blackberry Winter Sell in Italy, at Auction!
Yesterday, my literary agent called to share some incredibly exciting news: I sold foreign rights to The Violets of March, and my third novel, Blackberry Winter, (to be published by Penguin/Plume on September 27, 2012) to a major publisher in Italy! There was so much excitement about the books in Italy that they were sold at auction! But, what made all of this so incredibly cool was the publisher, Nord, whose offer I accepted put together a movie (see above) to show me how excited they are about The Violets of March, and I’m so thrilled to share it with you. The editor there says she wanted me to see all the imagery that came to her mind as she was reading the story. It’s truly lovely! Be sure to watch until the very end, where they included their logo with a little caption that is so cute!
So, as of now, Violets has sold to four countries outside of North America (Italy, Germany, Spain, and Poland!) I’m just hoping that someone sends me on a book tour in Italy. 🙂

Wow! They made that just for you? Oh, you have touched so many hearts in so many different ways.
Hoping they send you to Italy!

Sarah,
Congrats! I love the clip they made for “Violets.” It makes me want to read the book again. I just had a great idea – if you go to Italy, I can be your personal assistant!!

As someone who’s 1st novel Searching for My Wand was self published just yesterday, I can’t even imagine the cloud you must be floating on. If you need a companion on that book tour, just let me know! Congratulations! It’s so cool to see people’s dreams realized.
