Yesterday, snow was falling in Manhattan when my editor called to give me the amazing news that Blackberry Winter had climbed two New York Times bestseller lists to #7 on the ebook fiction list, and #14 on the combined print and ebook list. Thank you for the gift of “Blackberry Winter.” I have recently had to part with my daughter and I know no of pain greater than being separated from one’s child. I empathize with Vera and mourn with Claire.
I just finished Blackberry Winter and I absolutely loved it! I also read your first novel Violets of March, and I plan to read your newest one too! But I have to say Blackberry Winter was my favorite so far. I love how you kept the reader guessing until the very end. And you told such a sad story in a very moving and beautiful way. I have been recommending this book to everyone I know.
