I wrote a little something for the MOPS (Mother’s of Preschoolers) email newsletter today (hello MOPS!), so, I feel like giving away a copy of my new novel to one deserving, perhaps overworked mother (like me). For the record, I have three little boys—5 and under. Moms, let’s stick together!
I’m on a book tour this month—and having a blast—but it’s quite something to go on a book tour when you have three young children to care for. Before each trip, I’m making sure everything’s attended to so my little guys are happy and comfy before I go (daddy and grandparents are helping a bunch—and the baby goes where I go, so lots of plane travel with baby!), and that means lots of extra prep work before each trip. Moms, you get this! We work hard (even when we’re not going on a book tour!) and because we all could use time to kick our feet up more and read, I’m giving away a copy of my new novel, The Bungalow, to one mother (at random). I’m also tucking in some chocolate, too, to make it extra special.
Just leave a comment below! I’ll choose a winner this week.
P.S. Not a mama? Don’t worry, I’ll do more giveaways soon!

The novel looks charming. Would love to read it. I have aspirations of a novel someday, too. Not having much success finding time to write so far, but as you said, the season of mothering is busy indeed. Congrats’ on your 2 novels.

Hello! I truly can connect with your MOPS reflection today and often spend time reflecting on what it means to be in the mothering season. Congrats on your book tour. I look forward to reading the book. Thanks for the opportunity to win one!
I am a mom of a teenage son and loved my time in MOPS. I would love a chance to win a copy of your new book!!
I’m a Mom to two twenty-somethings. Today my youngest followed in our footsteps, beginning his student teaching experience! A proud day for any mama! I’d be proud to receive your book as well!
I am the proud mom of a very busy teenage girl, and work as a substitute teacher. In my spare time (ha ha ha), she has swim team practices, and I work at the concession stand at all the meets and teach catechism to six of her friends and her at our home. I would just love to read your book and love chocolate. Next week is the Lunar New Year, which we celebrate in our home as our daughter hails from Jiangsu Province! Our home is busy and full to bursting with love, all good things!
I am a mom of two wonderful and inspirational children. I teach 3rd grade and love cooking and reading. Your books are a great inspiration and wonderful story lines. I love your books.
Thanks for the encouragement on the MOPs newsletter! This is a good season albeit so hard some days! I have a 1 1/2 year old with another on the way. Congratulations on the book!
I am the tired but happy mom of a toddler (who just turned 2 yesterday) and a teenager. I would love to win the book. As much as I love the days and evenings with my kids, I love curling up with a good book at night. This would be a wonderful treat.
I have heard nothing but RAVING about your latest release – I have to read it SOON!!!
Don’t know how you do it with three little guys. I have one (almost 2), and he’s all I can handle most days!
I am a mom to 3 boys ages 21,14 and 2. At the end of the day I love to read. Can’t wait to read your new book. I loved VIOLETS OF MARCH….
I’ve got 2 girls (4 and 2) and a baby on the way in a few weeks. I would love to spend my last few weeks of “freedom” (ha ha) with a great book to read!
Pick me! Loved Violets of March and dragged my three year old through the new fiction section at my library to find it! Would love to have this one delivered to me…to keep!
I am a mother to 4 beautiful girls ages 14, 4, 1, and 1 (yes that means I have twins). I quit my job to stay home when the twins were born so I could try to keep some sanity. By the way, staying home is way more exhausting than my previous job as an educational adminstrator.
Thanks for making my unfocused life seem normal. I too have 3 boys 5 and under and hope to be proud of my choices when looking back. I am the coordinator of my MOPS group and feel like I should have “hours” for my ‘employment’ but usually I find myself typing one-handed. Unlike now, but that’s because it is 8:30…
Best Wishes and Yea MOPS!
I am a single young mom to a 9 year old son- I can completely relate! After graduating college and getting a good job, I finally feel like I can kick back a little bit and relax, things are working out well and the $$$ is coming in, but its still a struggle to balance the day to day life of a single mom!
I have a soon to be 5yr old, 2yr old, and 9mo old….I can’t imagine writing a novel. I can barely pay the bills!!! Would love to win your book….though it might take me a full year to read it….a page a day?!
Thanks for the encouragement today in the MOPS email. I needed it.
Congratulations on your book and I will definitely be looking for it the next time I am at the bookstore!
I am actually a moppets coordinator who has a book in her head, not yet on paper. My kids used to ask me to tell them stories while tucking them in to bed. This particular story was requested time after time, and still is. I just need to take the time to get it written. Your books look great. I’ll have to pick one up, if I don’t win it that is! Thanks for your generosity and blessings to you as you continue to write.
I’m a mom to 2 boys. (6 & 3). They keep me very busy, but I try to take time to relax & read. I recently enjoyed reading Violets of March and look forward to reading The Bungalow!
I am Mommy to three young children, and juggle that along with a busy career which includes running my business. I also office out of my home, so I totally related to the toys in your office and the frequent interruptions. After a particularly difficult couple of weeks where all three children passed around stomach flu, I read your piece in the MOPS newsletter today with tears streaming down my face. It really touched me – it was a wonderful reminder of what my first priority is – my family. Somehow it is comforting to know that other Moms out there struggle with the daily circus act as well. I am not alone, and knowing that helps. I love to read before bed at night and have been looking for a new book. I am hoping your books are available at Amazon.com or Kindle or iBooks? Thanks for sharing your “story” with the rest of us Moms. I am printing and saving it…
I’m the proud mommy to a 6-year old diva, er, daughter. Writer & mom, 24-7. Working outside the house has always made it a challenge, but I’ve somehow managed to juggle the demands of a full-time job, motherhood, and my personal writing adventures. The best part, reading the work of talented women like you! Congrats on the tour and here’s to hoping a little luck of the draw sends me your new book!
I’m a single mom of 2 boys, 6 1/2 and 3. I’ve always loved to read (majored in English in college!) and I’m teaching my boys to love books too. I read The Violets of March a few months ago and can’t wait to read The Bungalow!
I am very fortunate to be a mom to two wonderful young adults. I was blessed with being able to stay home with them when they were younger and be very involved in their elementary and middle school PTOs. Now I am a full-time special education teacher, working with children on the autism spectrum. It is quite rewarding, but does not compare to the joy of motherhood.
I look forward to reading your new book! Keep trucking after those little ones. They grow quicker than you would believe.
I’m a mama in Seattle, too! And I came to your blog because of that lovely MOPS article you wrote–I go to MOPS at Bethany Community Church in the Greenlake area. Loved seeing your photo in Third Place Books in Ravenna–I know exactly where that is! (We do a lot of playing at the Ravenna-Eckstein Community Center.) Got 2 boy-beans, ages 3.5 and 5.5.
Hi : ) I am a mom on 2, and full time student. Going to be graduating this summer and can’t wait to start a new chapter in my life. My 3 men, little and big, are my world. It is a crazy world here too lol. My favorite past time is reading, taking a little quiet time for myself. Your book would really enhance my quiet time : )
Good luck on future novels : )
I am a mom of 3 and I would love a copy of The Bungalow!
Hi Sarah,
I so enjoyed Violets, and I look forward to reading The Bungalow. I’m a new mom to a beautiful daughter who turns 5 months tomorrow… It’s the hardest work I’ve ever done, but also the most
amazing!
I just read your MOPS mom email. Thank you for sharing and inspiring! I am a NY MOPS member. I hope to get a chance to read your books soon. Congratulations on your latest novel.
I too have a busy life with six children (three girls and three boys) ages 9, 9, 8, 7, 4 and 2 (we have two adopted so the oldest three girls are all within 9 months of age of each other). I love to read but don’t get the chance as much as I would like to. I am glad to add another author to my list of ‘want to read’. Congratulations on your new book and may the Lord bless you as you juggle your family and work!
Your article gave me some hope that eventually I might actually finish the books I’m trying to write and pursue having them published. However, every time I look at my little girl, I don’t regret putting her first and setting my writing dreams aside for the time being.
I enjoyed your MOPS article today…It was just the bit of encouragement I needed…thank you! I too have 3 kids (4, 2 & 9 mo) & I needed to hear “this is our season to be moms!”
I liked your MOPS newsletter snippet. Kids are only little for so long! I would love a copy of your book! Thanks!
Thank you for sharing with us MOPS moms. Your words were just what I needed this evening to remind me of the importance of the time that I spend with my kids. Would love to take some “me time” to read your new book!
Hi Sarah!
I’m a mother of 5 sons and one step-son. Our oldest are fraternal twins! I am convinced that it’s easier to have twins first. One baby at a time is a cinch after that!! Our youngest, at 20, is forever 2, since he’s developmentally delayed. With this joyful boy/man, my husband and I will stay forever young <3 I also taught pre-school for 13 years, and was loving it until the school closed.
One word of advice: savor every moment with your little ones, because your time with them is all too short!
To be fair, I already have the book, and thanks to you, I have finally found one this new year that I actually LIKE! That being said, I am a mom, teacher, and reading specialist. Whew! We lead busy lives, but no matter what-family first. My kids are the most important blessing I have. FYI-If I got the signed copy, I would pay it forward with my copy. Thank you for doing a giveaway!
I am a mom to two daughters ages 6 and almost 10. I loved the Violets of March. It was one of my favorite books of last year. A friend who is a book blogger and read your new book told me it was just as good. I am so looking forward to reading it.
I’m a MOPS mommy and could use a good book — for those few precious moments when I have a chance to read! Thanks for sharing your thoughts in the MOPS mom-e-mail.
Hey Sarah! Thanks for taking time to write in our MOPS newsletter and for offering this give-away. I loved reading all the comments above! Thank God for all of you wonderful, hard-working, sleep-deprived, overwhelmed, mulit-tasking, motivated and loving, mothers. (I love all of the aspiring novelists out there too… Write your stories, ladies! The world needs to hear them!) I am a MOPS coordinator, a massage therapist, and the mother of two awesome boys (3 and 8). I am encouraged by my MOPS friends and by all of you who’ve shared a bit of your story here. Thank you! (So many deserving women… how will you ever choose?)
heck, haven’t had time to make it to the library for a while, and I could use something new to read…worth a shot!
I am a stay at home, homeschooling mom of a soon to be 13 year old daughter. She is my late life child of 5. I certainly can relate to your MOP stories. I am on my last stretch of the lasts of the lasts of my children and many memories go along with this. I have 3 beautiful grandchildren which I get to enjoy beautiful memories with watching my older daughter and son being the best parents to them. It is such a joy to sit back and enjoy this knowing that you have accomplished the best job of your life and your able to watch it transform right in front of you! What joy!! Looking forward to this next book. I really enjoyed Violets of March!!!
I loved the Violets Of March…what a good read. I have one girl and three boys…two in there forties and two in there thirties. You never stop being a Mom. Loved it when they were little, but its really nice when they grow into big people and you can have four new friends. Now I love the grandbabies too.
Like you, I am a mom to 3 boys under 6. Reading is my escape at the end of a long day. I’d love to read your book!
Thanks for your words in the MOPS newsletter! I too am a Mom to 3 boys under the age of 5. I love to read in those few minutes to myself at night and would love a copy of your book!
Congratulations on your new novel! I am the mom of 2 boys (4 and 2 years old). I can imagine the fun (and craziness) of adding a third boy!! But we’re good with 2!
Thanks for the chance to win!
Thanks for the encouragement in the MOPS newsletter. A great reminder as I start my day today as the homeschooling mother of 6 wonderful little people (age 2-13). Psst…a wonderful book and some chocolate (and a little extra time) sure would be a very special treat
Hello! I’m doing the single mom bit for my 1 year old bundle of energy and loving every minute, although 7:30 bed time makes for great reading time. Would love to win a copy of your book…and yes chocolate is always a winner as well! Thanks for the chance I have heard amazing things about your work.
I’d love to win a copy!
Would love to win a copy of your book
