The Blackberry Winter Gift Box Giveaway!

August 28, 2012

Hi everyone! I’m so excited to share this fun giveaway to celebrate the one-month countdown to publication of my third novel, Blackberry Winter. As you know, this is a very special and meaningful story to me, and I have never been more excited to send a book out into the world as I am right now.

So, would you like to win this lovely blackberry-themed gift box? It contains:

*A signed copy of Blackberry Winter
*A special note from the author (moi!)
*A jar of wild Northwest blackberry honey
*A container of blackberry sage tea
*A bottle of Lavanila Vanilla Blackberry Perfume (it is the most beautiful scent ever!)

How to enter? Simply leave a comment below! I’ll count shares via Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, or your blog as an extra entry (just be sure to leave a separate comment for each time you share via a separate channel so you’ll get the extra entries). The week before publication day (the book comes out on 9/25), I will choose a winner at random, and send the lucky person this box of blackberry bliss.

In the meantime, I would be so, so, so excited if you pre-ordered a copy at your favorite independent bookstore, or online at Amazon or Barnes & Noble. (And if you win an extra copy, you can always give it to your favorite girlfriend, mom, grandma, babysitter, teacher or aunt as a gift, and keep all the other goodies for yourself!) :)

Curious about the story? You can see the amazing things REAL SIMPLE had to say about the novel here, watch the book trailer here, learn more about the book here, and watch a really goofy video of me talking about my adventures in blackberry-pie-baking.

Oh, also, I have a few remaining pre-publication galleys left, and I may just choose a few additional people here to share those with!

Thank you for entering, and for your interest in Blackberry Winter!

Hi Sarah:
I can’t wait for Blackberry Winter to come out…I have it on order at the library! I requested our library to buy your other books Violets of March and The Bungalow and everytime I’m in the library and I see someone looking for a new book to read I tell them about your books!! You’re such an amazing writer…your books just take the reader into the story itself!!

I just can’t wait to read the new book. Blackberries are one of my favorites so the title alone grabbed my attention. And what a great prize.
Hope I win.

Can’t wait to read this new book! I absolutely loved your first two books (I read Violets of March in one day; couldn’t put it down!). This is a fun goodie box that I would be thrilled to win, but the best thing will be reading Blackberry Winter!

Martha Crutchfield September 21, 2012 at 2:16 am

Wonderful prize!!

Trish September 24, 2012 at 8:47 pm

I just finished Violets of March….I stayed up late because I could not put the book down. It was WONDERFUL! Just pre-ordered my copy of Blackberry Winter. Can’t wait!

Dee in OKC September 25, 2012 at 7:49 am

Violets in March is my new all time favorite book. I finished it – and just sat there – there just had to be more – there must be a sequel. It was a perfect finish leaving the reader wanting more. Thanks to She Reads Book Club for recommending Violets of March. I’m now extremely excited to read Blackberry Winter. Visited our Son & DIL in West Seattle and was blown away at the wild blackberries growing so profusly on their hillside & all over. Loved picking, eating the blackberries that summer. Now just dream of that sweetness as store bought just cannot compare. Thank you for this wonderful reading experience.

TeiLea September 27, 2012 at 1:43 pm

I love to read (when I find the time!) and I can’t wait to sit down, relax and enjoy your new book!

Edith (Penny) Weldon September 27, 2012 at 7:26 pm

I really liked reading your blog and especially feel a kinship of Sleepless in Seattle. I love that movie. You have given me a wonderful item to add to my bucket list of life-renting a houseboat is a dream I had almost forgotten. Thanks for reminding me!
I adore blackberries and remember picking them as a child and as an adult, making blackberry cobbler and jam. YUMMY! Cracker Barrel makes great cobbler, but nothing tastes better than homemade! A theme we use often in our home, homemade is best!

Penny

PS I am off to Barnes & Nobles to purchase your books!

Claudia Lamp September 29, 2012 at 8:39 pm

Did someone win this already?

Janet Nydegger October 1, 2012 at 5:12 am

Your new book sounds wonderful. I look forward to reading it.

Allyson October 3, 2012 at 9:26 am

Blackberry Winter is on my to-be-read list.
I’m eager to learn more about the 1930s, esp. after reading some Steinbeck.

Nancy Worden March 13, 2013 at 10:45 am
